The Ulster-Scots Agency has opened its Ulster-Scots Summer School Grant for 2026.
The funding stream is open to community and voluntary groups and will support the delivery of summer schools throughout Ulster from 1 July – 31 August 2026, for children aged 7 to 16 years of age.
Our popular Summer School Programme can support the following options:
These provide up to 10 different Ulster-Scots workshops/activities.
There will be a maximum eligible funding of 2 hours for each Ulster-Scots Activity, with a maximum of 20 hours of activities.
Drama tutors may be funded to deliver a week-long programme, finalising in a drama production.
In addition, groups may provide a maximum of 5 Ulster-Scots workshops/activities.
This provides up to 6 different Ulster-Scots workshops/activities over two days.
There will be a maximum eligible funding of 2 hours for each Ulster-Scots Activity, with a maximum of 8 hours of activities.
All summer schools must deliver an Ulster-Scots language workshop.
Groups interested in applying should click here – Ulster-Scots Summer Schools Grant
Following a successful registration, an application form, guidelines, and a template for a summer school activity plan will be emailed to the group.
Please note: The summer school plan is part of the application and assessment process, therefore groups should ensure they download the template provided and outline a proposed timetable. Failure to submit the plan and the supporting documents as listed in the guidelines will result in the application being rejected.
Groups can receive up to 75% of eligible costs.
All eligible and capped costs are listed in the guidelines.
The Summer Schools Programme is a traditionally competitive programme, therefore groups interested in applying are encouraged to read the detailed guidelines clearly and contact the Ulster-Scots Agency to clarify any issues, before submitting an application form.
The Ulster-Scots Summer Schools Grant will close at 3pm on Tuesday 14 April 2026.
Late or incomplete applications will be rejected.
