Burns Celebration Set for Titanic Belfast

Titanic Belfast will be the setting for a spectacular musical celebration of the genius of Robert Burns on Tuesday 22nd January, just a few days short of the Bard\'s 260th birthday.

Burns by the Lagan has been organised by the Ulster-Scots Agency and will be headlined by Scottish musical legends Eddi Reader, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, who will be joined by some of Ulster’s best young talent in presenting the songs of Scotland’s national bard against the backdrop of the world famous Titanic staircase.

Scots folk legend Phil Cunningham, who is musical director for the show, said, “I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Northern Ireland, and to the iconic Titanic Belfast no less, for what promises to be a spectacular evening of music and culture, featuring some of Scotland and Northern Ireland’s very best musicians.”

Ulster-Scots Agency Chief Executive Ian Crozier added, "We are thrilled to have such a fabulous line up to celebrate the works of Burns at Titanic Belfast.  We are also delighted that the event will be recorded for inclusion in a television programme which will be broadcast in both Ulster and Scotland on Burns Night, which is a major achievement for Ulster-Scots.  We would encourage everyone to get online and book their tickets early so as to avoid to avoid disappointment."
