JULY

Gilnahirk Pipe Band Sun 24 July

Formed in 1919 by men returning to Ulster after the Great War, Gilnahirk Pipe Band is the last remaining competitive pipe band in the Greater Belfast area. The Band has benefited from the instruction of a relatively small and select number of Pipe Majors which has contributed to its success over the years.

The Templemore Band Sun 31 July

The Templemore Band was formed in 1949 as The Templemore School Band under the direction of Mr. Alfie Bell. The Band thrived under his leadership and soon successfully competed at Local, European and World championship levels. The Band is directed by Mr Jack Burch ALCM, LLCM, LLCM (TD), FLCM. contributed to its success over the years.

AUGUST

Symington Memorial Silver Band Sun 7 August

Symington Memorial Silver Band made its first public appearance on Sunday 16th June 1952 leading LOL 1056 from Dundonald Orange Hall to the Presbyterian Church. In 1998 the Band celebrated its centenary and today it’s still going strong, a memorial to Robert Symington’s it founder’s vision.

Garvey Silver Band Sun 14 August 

Garvey Silver Band plays an extensive modern repertoire of light and popular music (both classical and original brass) as well as film themes, marches and hymn tunes with something for all tastes.

The Northern Ireland Concert Band Sun 21 August.  

The Northern Ireland Concert Band was originally set up as The Band of The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service in 2005, under the direction of Mr Warnock Patterson.  The Band is made up of members from all sections of the community and all parts of Northern Ireland.
