Parting Glass Concert

07 May 2016, Waterfront Hall, 2 Lanyon Place, Belfast, BT1 3WH

Runs to 07 May 2016

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has decided on a distinctly Ulster-Scots feel to their upcoming “Parting Glass Concert” at the Waterfront Hall on Saturday 7th May 2016.

Join the Band of the Royal Irish Regiment at this musical commemoration of the Battle of the Somme.  Host Paul Clark (UTV) recounts tales of heroism and sacrifice of the soldiers of the 36th (Ulster) Division.

The Band of the Royal Irish Regiment will be joined by an impressive array of local talent: Fermanagh Funnyman Gary Wilson, Edward Craig and The Grosvenor Choir, The Johnston Highland Dancers, soloist Willie Donald and soprano Alice Johnston.

Together they form an imposing group of professionals, who command a huge following of supporters.  Join them!

NI Charity Director, David Forsey said, “Such is the history and popularity of Ulster-Scots Dance and Music, we felt that they should both feature prominently in our programme.  Both Michelle Johnston and Andy McGregor have built exemplary reputations with regard to nurturing young talent and we are very pleased that they have agreed to join us for our fundraising concert.”

The Band, Bugles, Pipes & Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment are to headline this commemoration of the Somme Centenary, supported by a number of other talented local artistes.

Tickets are £17 - £22 and can be reserved by calling the Waterfront Box Office on 02890 334455 or online at Waterfront Hall Box Office

The Band appears by kind permission of Brigadier Andrew Roe. All proceeds go to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
