Ulster-Scots OCN: Spring 2026 Courses

Want to get a better understanding of Ulster-Scots in 2026?

If the answer is yes, then read on! 

The Ulster-Scots Community Network is currently scheduling their Adult Education courses for Spring 2026 and are offering their Level 1 course "Introduction to Ulster-Scots".

This introductory course is accredited FREE of charge by The Open College Network NI and is delivered over 4 2.5-hour sessions, covering the following topics:

🔹 What is an Ulster-Scots identity?

🔹 An overview of the Plantation of Ulster

🔹 Taakin with Ulster-Scots (language); and

🔹 Ulster-Scots and Family History. 

The course can be made available as either of the two options detailed below:

Option 1

🗓️ Thursdays – 12, 19 & 26 February and 5 March

🕖 7pm – 9.30pm

🖥️ Online (via Zoom)

Option 2

🗓️  Thursdays – 19 & 26 March and 2 & 9 April 

🕖 7pm – 9.30pm

🏢 Onsite (based at a location suitable for most of the expressions of interest). 

To express an interest in either of the above options, email charlesn@ulster-scots.com.  If you are selecting Option 2, please also provide your location. The USCN will then be in touch with further details as and when suffice levels of interest are realised.
