A wee taste o’ Ulster-Scots – New Language...

The Ulster-Scots Agency, DCAL and the Ulster-Scots Community Network are working together to bring the story of Ulster-Scots to as many people as possible, with a major initiative involving an extensive course highlighting the story of the Ulster-Scots language and culture.

Ahead of the six week courses planned for autumn, a series of one hour taster session are currently running to outline the fascinating story of the Ulster-Scots culture as well as seeking to identify what people want to learn more about.

The ‘Wee Taster Sessions’ are delivered by Dr. David Hume, author and broadcaster and have already taken place in Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Belfast (Clifton House), Ballymena, Kilkeel, Enniskillen, Dungannon, Omagh and Derry / Londonderry.

The remaining venues / dates are as follows:

Belfast - Belmont Tower, 82 Belmont Church Rd, Belfast BT4 3FG – Tuesday March 22 at 7.30pm

Banbridge - The Old Town Hall, 1 Scarva Street, Banbridge,, BT32 3DA – Thursday March 24 at 7.30pm

Newtownstewart - Grange Court, 21-27 Moyle Rd, Newtownstewart, Omagh, Strabane BT78 4AP – Tuesday March 29 at 7.30pm

Newtownards - Arts Centre, Town Hall, Conway Square, Newtownards, County Down BT23 4NP – Wednesday March 30 at 7.30pm

Admission to ‘Wee Taster Sessions’ is free and everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy a wee taste o’ Ulster-Scots!
