In an exciting new venture, the Schomberg Society, Kilkeel are offering unique Ulster-Scots guided tours of the Kingdom of Mourne.
These tours will feature Ulster-Scots places of significance and highlight the impact the Ulster-Scots have had on the local landscape, its industry, cultural traditions and language.
Guided tours can be walking or by coach and can be tailored to suit individual groups and may include visits to see the famous Mourne Wall, the Silent Valley, Kilkeel and Annalong Harbours, Ballyvea Museum, the picturesque village of Greencastle, Mourne Presbyterian Church and the historic self catering cottages Hannas Close which was settled by Scots and dates back to the early 1600s and is the birthplace of Victoria Cross winner Robert Hill Hanna.
Tours can also include an Ulster-Scots showcase of music and dance in our Ulster-Scots Cultural Centre, Reivers House in Kilkeel and refreshments can also be provided.
