The Coleraine Festival of Culture, Heritage and Remembrance has been running since 2007 and incorporates music, dancing, historical workshops, walks and re-enactments highlighting the rich history of Coleraine and the surrounding areas, including the role of Scottish settlers and the 1718 migration from the Bann Valley to the United States.

This years festival will be getting underway with events beginning on the 30th June with a WW1 Walk into Town, the Somme theme continued yesterday at a 1st July Somme Commemoration event to mark the centenary of the battles

There is a lot to be seen in the coming days!  Performances by Newtown Folk, Coleraine Fife & Drum , Piper William Campbell, Ballinlea Ceilidh Dancers, Mandy's Country Steppers and Bannside Lambegs & Fifes can all be enjoyed on Saturday 2nd July with an Ulster Scots cookery demonstation by Ballyrashane Ladies Community.

Monday 4th July will see performances by The Broken String band, McAllister Brothers and the local soldiers regiment - Scotti Group.

An Ulster Scots Language workshop including WW1 Poetry will be hosted by Anne Smyth on Tuesday 5th July with a talk on WW1 and the Somme by J Gault & G Dallas on Wednesday 6th.

The final day of the Festival will see a range of family fun and entertainment with a Fun day and fireworks taking place.  Musical performances by Bannside Lambegs & Fifes, Hounds of Ulster, Ballinrees Pipe Band, Ballinteer Flute Band, Ballyrashane Flute Band, Macosquin Flute Band, Moneydig Flute Band, POTB Flute Band, Freeman Memorial Flute Band and UPB Flute Band.
