Burns Celebration Evening

20 January 2024, 19:30, The Old Courthouse, Antrim

The Ulster-Scots Agency, in partnership with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, present a celebration of the much-loved poet and lyricist Robert Burns.

Christopher Tait is Scotland’s leading Robert Burns performer. For over 29 years now he has been delighting audiences throughout the world. From Seattle, Toronto and Boston to Helsinki, Dubai and Singapore, he's shared a stage with the great Scottish comedian and actor, Ronnie Corbett, performed on a yacht in the middle of Lake Washington and led the Tartan Day parade in New York. Christopher is a regular visitor to Ulster, performing at schools and colleges and at the Linen Hall Library in Belfast. He has appeared with the Ulster Orchestra at the Ulster Hall and Waterfront Hall and his one man play, 'Robert Burns Live' was filmed and televised in Northern Ireland in 2017.

So, join us as we ‘pipe in’ the haggis and enjoy poetry and stories from the mind of Scotland’s great cultural titans, accompanied by Burns music by La Petite Duette and local history of Burns by Matt Warwick.
