Did you know...

...that Archibald McIlroy, perhaps the foremost local exponent of the Kailyard school of writing, died as a result of the sinking of the RMS Lusitania? The RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German submarine off the Old Head of Kinsale, close to Ireland, on 7 May 1915. McIlroy\'s most popular books include \'When Lint Was in the Bell\' (1897) and \'The Auld Meetin’-Hoose Green\' (1898).
