Did you know...

...that Augustine Henry, who had Ulster-Scots connections, discovered the kiwi fruit?

Augustine was born in Dundee on 2 July 1857. His father, Bernard, was originally from Ulster while his mother, Mary McNamee, was Scottish.

Shortly after Augustine was born, the family returned to live in the family home at Tyanee, near Portglenone, located on the west side of the Bann, County Londonderry.
