The Raymochy Parishes Historical Society will host by talk by local historian Billy Mc Kinley on Wed 22nd February 2017 at the Manorcunningham Resource Centre.

Billy will give a talk on the life and poetry of W. F. Marshall (1888-1959).

The Rev Wm Marshall was born at Drumragh, Omagh, County Tyrone, and went on to become a prolific writer and poet. He was often referred to as “The Bard of Tyrone”.

His contributions included many well know poems such as "Me an' me Da (I’m livin in Drumlister)", "Sarah Ann", and "Our Son". He was also a leading expert on the Ulster-Scot dialect.

Billy’s talk will reflect on Wm Marshall’s life, his influences and his writings. It will begin at 8.00pm.

There is no admission charge. Refreshments will be served afterwards and everyone is welcome to come along.
