Maiden City Festival will take place in Londonderry/Derry from 6 Aug - 13 August 2016. The Maiden City Festival – bringing the old city to life through music, dance, theatre and pageant. Now in its 18th year, the Maiden City Festival returns once again with an exciting mix of entertainment throughout the week and some new highlights for 2016.

The Festival expects over 40,000 people to see or take part in some aspect of the Festival over its 8 days with various events take place at different locations.

This years festival promises a diverse programme of Ulster-Scots music from bands such as King Blue, Cat & The Lillies, The Down & Out Bluegrass Band, The White Mansions, The Broken String Band, Mandy Bingham, The White Mansions and Cool Hand String Band.

Monday 8th August to Friday 12th August will see a variety of ‘Culture Bites’ performances in cafes across the city where you can sample performances from a range of artists including Darren Milligan, John Trotter, Roy Arbuckle, Stuart Buchanan and Richard Laird.

Theatrical performances telling stories of the Siege will take place bringing history to life from Saturday 6th August to Friday 12th August and there will be an Ulster-Scots dancing competition on Thursday 11th August.

There promises to be something for everyone at the Maiden City Festival 2016.
