The Broadisland Gatherin’ is now in its 23rd year and is the longest established Ulster Scots Festival in Northern Ireland. The Festival has received many thousands of visitors over the years making it not only locally relevant but also servicing a wider global market.

21st August – 4th September 2016.

The programme this year is well rounded and full of family fun and entertainment.  The festival kicks off on Sunday 21st August at the Fairhill Amphitheatre, further musical performances from Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band, Mounthill Drummers, Stonewall, Risin' Stour, Alistair Scott Ceilidh Band, Killyglen Accordion Band and the Larne Choral Society will be taking place on 3rd September at the main marquee in Fairhill. 

Friday 26th August will see Liam Kelly leading Ulster-Scots enthusiasts on the ‘History Bus’ visiting some of the unique Ulster-Scots locations and learning more about the history of the local area.

An Ulster-Scots language event is taking place on Tuesday 30th August at Ballcarry Community Centre where Ulster-Scots poetry and discussions will be led by Angeline King-Kelly, Maurice Farquahr-Orr and Billy Teare.  There will also be a cookery demonstration by Arlene Thompson at Ballycarry Community Centre on 1st September.

The final concert will take place at the Fairhill Amphitheatre on 4th September with Willie Drennan and Killyglen Accordion Orchestra.
