The Spring Gatherin’ is delighted to welcome the Ulster-Scots Agency Juvenile Pipe Band, Northern Ireland’s premier juvenile pipe band, for a special performance at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on Saturday, 25 April at 2.00 – 3.00pm.
Mervyn Herron, Event Controller, said, “One of our main goals with The Spring Gatherin’ is to highlight Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland’s piping and drumming talent to the world. The Ulster-Scots Agency Juvenile Pipe Band is a launching pad for youngsters who will be our top talent in years to come. The band makes an excellent addition to our programme.”
The Spring Gatherin’ is also delighted to announce that the Pipes and Drums of the Police Service of Northern Ireland have accepted our invitation to take part in The Spring Gatherin’ Invitational Bands event at the Ramada Plaza Belfast on Saturday, 25 April at 3.00pm.
Colin Wasson, Director of The Spring Gatherin’, said “The Pipes and Drums of the PSNI have a steadfast reputation of being one of Northern Ireland’s most successful competitive bands. It’s my understanding that the band has recently recruited several new members and are working on a whole new repertoire. This debut performance of the season will be highly anticipated.”
The Spring Gatherin’ takes place on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2015 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Shaw's Bridge, Belfast.
Part -Competition, Part-Masterclass, Part-Exhibition, this event will give the piping and drumming community the opportunity to see some of the best pipers and drummers compete in the luxurious surroundings of the Ramada Plaza Hotel.
As well as seeing some of the top pipers and drummers taking part in solo events, we are reintroducing the mini band competition, which in the past has always been so well supported by the public. We are especially reaching out to those bands in the community which don't normally compete but are interested in getting some feedback from well respected judges, as to where their band is.
