Shape the future of Creative Learning in the...

23 June 2010, 09:30, Spectrum Centre, Belfast

Runs to 23 May 2010

Community Engagement Days Currently the Lyric are developing a new creative learning strategy for the new theatre that will include a range of theatre-based workshop programmes centred on your needs. To help them understand your hopes and aspirations for the new theatre, they would like to invite you to the Lyric’s Community Engagement day. If you are an individual, community group or organisation, this is your opportunity to provide your thoughts on what you would like to see from the Lyric’s Creative Learning Department.

At each forum you will receive information about the new building, its facilities, plans for future programming and the creative learning programme for 2010-11.
The event will be held in the Spectrum Centre, Shankill Road, on 23rd June , from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

This is your opportunity to put questions to the Lyric’s Chief Executive (Ciaran McAuley), Artistic Director (Richard Croxford) and Education and Creative Learning Coordinator (Carol Moore)

The new Lyric Theatre will open in Spring 2011 and contain a beautiful main 390 seat auditorium, a smaller flexible performance space seating between 110 and 150 people, a rehearsal room, a creative learning suite and spacious front of house foyers and bar area serving snacks and light lunches. Finally Belfast will have a state of the art full-time producing theatre the city can be proud of.  For more information on the new theatre visit www.lyrictheatre.co.uk/newtheatre

The creative learning suite will be dedicated to providing a whole range of theatre-based workshop programmes and catering for young children and adults in the community as well as ongoing career development for theatre professionals.

Having a on-site learning suite means every workshop participant can expect a quality experience that is technically well resourced and led by the best arts practitioners and facilitators from across the country.

This Community Engagement Forum gives you the opportunity to talk to Lyric, the opportunity to ask questions and to offer suggestions about productions they should be doing or workshops they should be offering.
If you can’t make our engagement day, provide your feedback by completing the online questionnaire. Download a questionnaire from www.lyrictheatre.co.uk/engagementdays
Your feedback is valued and will be vital in shaping the creative learning strategy in the new theatre.
For further information contact Carol Moore, Education and Creative Learning Coordinator by emailing carol@lyrictheatre.co.uk or phoning 028 9038 5687.
