STRATEGIC THEMES

 


1.     LINGUISTIC DEVELOPMENT

To support Ulster-Scots as a living language and to promote its use and development in partnership with key stakeholders, including the Ulster-Scots Language Society, the Ulster-Scots Academy, the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, the Scottish National Dictionary Association, the Scots Language Resource Centre and native speaking Ulster Scots generally  (Annex 3 shows a list of stakeholders).

 

2. CULTURE

To support the provision of educational resources and research in partnership with established institutions and to promote the study of the Ulster-Scots language, culture and history at all levels in the educational system.  Such provision will assist people in reaching their full potential and make a significant contribution to social inclusion.

 

4.     PUBLIC AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF ULSTER-SCOTS

 

To develop the wider public’s awareness and understanding of the richness, diversity and worth of the Ulster-Scots language and culture.
