Education is one of the key development areas for the Ulster-Scots Agency as detailed in its Corporate Plan 2000/1-2003/4. The Agency aims to initiate appropriate courses and materials for the range of educational requirements – primary, post-primary, third level and post-graduate – in line with demand. This is a potentially exciting area of development but one that will require long-term investment and considerable planning.

You can find out details of the Agency’s successful partnership with the University of Ulster in creating the Institute of Ulster-Scots Studies and its new partnership with Stranmillis University College, Belfast to create teaching materials for primary schools. And how one forward-thinking school principal in Co. Antrim introduced Ulster-Scots teaching to her pupils.
