Fostering cultural ties with ÔDown UnderÕ
Ulster-New Zealand culture links will be established next month by the Institute of Ulster-Scots Studies in Londonderry. The Institute will host its second annual lecture series on the Ulster-Scots diaspora and as a follow-up to a very successful series last year focussing on the links between Ulster and Canada, it will now feature on ties between Ulster and New Zealand.

Welcome return of radio series

The Ulster-Scots Agency has welcomed the third series of Northern IrelandÕs only dedicated Ulster-Scots language programme, 'A Kist OWurds'.  Agency chairman, Lord Laird of Artigarvan, said he hoped that readers of the Ulster-Scot would support the programme.


Kilkeel society brings Boyne battle to life for new BBC film

A piece of history has been recreated by members of the Schomberg Society from Kilkeel who took part in re-enactment scenes depicting the Battle of the Boyne.  Maynard Hanna, of the Schomberg Society, was invited by BBC director and producer, Paul McGuigan to take part in the filming of the Boyne battle, as one of eight programmes being made by the BBC about decisive battles within the British Isles.
