Festival at Cairncastle
Cairncastle LOL No 692 Community Group Co. Antrim, will present its annual festival on July 24-26. It will conclude with a service of thanksgiving on Sunday July 27.
The festival, held for the past three years, is established as an integral part of community life and attracts folk from far beyond Cairncastle. It is noted, too, that overseas visitors and holiday makers - many with roots in the community - attend and mix with supporters.
The picturesque site, four miles north of Larne, is in a field beside the Orange Hall, overlooking the North Channel, and every care is taken to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of the attendance, with special regard for handicapped. There is a comfortable marquee in case of inclement weather. It is also a welcome meeting place to sit and to chat and meet old friends.
The festival presents music, dancing, singing, lecturing and other activities, presented by well known historian, entertainer and raconteur Ian Duffin. There is provision for children with all their popular attractions. Their parents can be assured of care and attention to their comfort and enjoyment.
Everyone is welcome. With many compliments in the past, and many requests for a repeat festival, a good time is assured for all.
